ABOUT

Tabayyun means seeking clarity before you speak or act.

The name is the product. We build source-grounded Islamic research and learning — not a generic assistant with Islamic branding.

In Surah Al-Hujurat, believers are told to verify news before acting on it. Tabayyun applies that discipline to software: retrieve from a known corpus, show the sources, and withhold what cannot be confirmed.

Standard answers are drawn from 70,972 indexed passages — the full Qur'an (6,236 verses), six major hadith collections, and multiple classical tafsir works. We do not invent a tafsir-passage total. Hadith trust is not flattened: Bukhari and Muslim are treated as canonical ṣaḥīḥ collections; the four Sunan often carry mixed grades, which are shown when the record has them.

We do not claim infallibility. We claim that the process is inspectable: fail-closed citation checks, grading left intact where the record has it, and Scholar Mode labeled when it goes outside the verified library.

The public site at tabayyun.net explains the work. The working product is where you sign in, ask, and draft. Research and Source Explorer are in development and are not presented as live.

WHAT TABAYYUN IS NOT

Not a mufti. Not a fatwa service.

Tabayyun is a research and educational tool for reading Qur'an, Hadith, and tafsir with a visible trail. For a personal ruling, ask a qualified scholar.
