Terms of Service

Last updated: September 16, 2026

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of Tabayyun, a service provided by Tabayyun Technologies (“Tabayyun,” “we,” “us,” or “our”).

By accessing or using Tabayyun, you agree to these Terms.

If you do not agree, do not use the service.

1. About Tabayyun

Tabayyun is an Islamic research and educational technology platform.

The service may include features such as:

  • Standard Mode;
  • Scholar Mode;
  • Khutbah Builder;
  • Source Explorer;
  • Research tools;
  • saved history;
  • bookmarks;
  • document generation;
  • source citation and comparison tools.

Features may change over time.

2. Educational and Research Purpose

Tabayyun provides information for research, educational, and content-preparation purposes.

Tabayyun is not a mufti, imam, law firm, medical provider, financial adviser, or other licensed professional service.

Nothing provided through Tabayyun should automatically be treated as a personalized fatwa, binding religious ruling, legal opinion, medical advice, or professional advice.

Users should consult a qualified scholar or other appropriate professional when their situation requires individualized judgment.

3. No Scholar-Student or Mufti-Mustafti Relationship

Using Tabayyun does not create:

  • a scholar-student relationship;
  • a mufti-mustafti relationship;
  • a legal professional relationship;
  • a confidential pastoral relationship;
  • any other professional advisory relationship.

Tabayyun is a software tool designed to help users access and understand source material.

4. Accuracy and Source Limitations

Tabayyun is designed to prioritize source grounding, attribution, and transparency.

However, no software system is perfect.

Tabayyun may:

  • misunderstand a question;
  • retrieve incomplete evidence;
  • omit relevant scholarly views;
  • incorrectly interpret context;
  • produce incomplete analysis;
  • contain technical or citation errors.

Users should review important religious, academic, legal, or public-facing material before relying on or publishing it.

The presence of a citation does not guarantee that every possible scholarly interpretation has been represented.

5. Scholarly Disagreement

Islamic scholarship contains legitimate disagreement.

Tabayyun may present:

  • different madhhab positions;
  • different tafsir interpretations;
  • differing scholarly opinions;
  • majority or minority positions where adequately supported;
  • uncertainty where evidence is incomplete.

Users should not assume that a single answer represents unanimous Islamic consensus unless the evidence clearly supports that conclusion.

6. User Accounts

Some features may require an account.

You agree to:

  • provide accurate account information;
  • keep your login credentials secure;
  • notify us of suspected unauthorized access;
  • remain responsible for activity conducted through your account.

You may not sell, transfer, or unlawfully share access to your account.

7. Acceptable Use

You may not use Tabayyun to:

  • violate applicable law;
  • attack, interfere with, or disrupt the service;
  • attempt unauthorized access to systems or accounts;
  • reverse engineer or exploit the service unlawfully;
  • bypass subscription or usage restrictions;
  • conduct abusive automated scraping;
  • distribute malware;
  • impersonate another person;
  • submit content intended to compromise or manipulate system security;
  • use the service in a manner that materially harms other users or Tabayyun.

We may restrict or terminate access for abuse.

8. User Content

You retain ownership of content you submit to Tabayyun, subject to any rights held by third parties.

By submitting content, you grant Tabayyun the limited rights necessary to:

  • process it;
  • store it where applicable;
  • display it back to you;
  • use it to provide the requested service;
  • maintain service reliability and security.

You are responsible for ensuring that you have the right to submit content you provide.

9. Khutbah Builder and Generated Content

Khutbah Builder is intended to assist with sermon research, organization, and drafting.

The user remains responsible for reviewing material before delivering it publicly.

Tabayyun does not guarantee that generated khutbah material is appropriate for every congregation, jurisdiction, cultural context, or religious setting.

Requested stories or community context supplied by a user may be incorporated into drafts but are not automatically treated as religious evidence.

10. Scholar Mode

Scholar Mode may provide deeper synthesis, comparison, and analysis.

Where appropriate, it may use approved external research in addition to Tabayyun's internal corpus.

Any derived analysis should be treated as analysis, not as a direct quotation from a source or scholar unless explicitly identified as such.

11. Subscriptions and Paid Plans

Tabayyun may offer free and paid plans.

The exact:

  • prices;
  • usage limits;
  • included features;
  • billing intervals;
  • renewal terms;
  • cancellation terms;
  • refund rules

will be disclosed when a user purchases a subscription.

Paid plans may renew automatically where clearly disclosed at checkout.

Users will be able to manage subscriptions according to the payment and billing options made available through the service.

We may change future pricing or plan structure, subject to applicable law and any commitments made to existing subscribers.

12. Pilot, Complimentary, and Institutional Access

Tabayyun may provide:

  • pilot access;
  • promotional access;
  • complimentary access;
  • scholar access;
  • employee or administrator access;
  • institutional access.

Such access may be:

  • temporary;
  • limited;
  • revocable;
  • subject to separate conditions.

Unless otherwise agreed in writing, complimentary or pilot access does not guarantee continued access.

13. Intellectual Property

The Tabayyun name, branding, software, user interface, original written content, and proprietary technology are owned by or licensed to Tabayyun Technologies.

Nothing in these Terms gives users ownership of Tabayyun's software or branding.

Tabayyun does not claim ownership over the Qur'an, hadith literature, classical Islamic texts, or other third-party/public-domain materials merely because they are indexed or displayed through the service.

Third-party translations, publications, or scholarly works may remain subject to their respective rights.

14. Feedback

If you provide feedback, suggestions, or feature ideas, you permit Tabayyun to use that feedback to improve the service without obligation to compensate you.

This does not transfer ownership of unrelated proprietary material you may provide.

15. Third-Party Services

Tabayyun may integrate with third-party services such as:

  • authentication providers;
  • hosting platforms;
  • AI providers;
  • payment processors;
  • email systems;
  • external research sources.

Tabayyun is not responsible for third-party services outside our reasonable control.

Their own terms and policies may apply.

16. Availability and Changes

We may:

  • modify features;
  • add or remove functionality;
  • perform maintenance;
  • impose reasonable usage limits;
  • temporarily suspend parts of the service.

We do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free availability.

17. Suspension and Termination

We may suspend or terminate access where reasonably necessary because of:

  • abuse;
  • fraud;
  • security concerns;
  • violations of these Terms;
  • legal requirements;
  • non-payment of applicable fees.

Users may stop using Tabayyun at any time.

18. Disclaimer of Warranties

To the extent permitted by applicable law, Tabayyun is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis.

We do not guarantee that:

  • every answer will be complete;
  • every answer will be correct;
  • every relevant scholarly view will be represented;
  • every citation will remain available indefinitely;
  • the service will always operate without interruption.

Nothing in this section excludes rights that cannot lawfully be excluded.

19. Limitation of Liability

To the extent permitted by applicable law, Tabayyun Technologies will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from use of the service.

Where liability cannot legally be excluded, liability will be limited only to the extent permitted by law.

Nothing in these Terms limits liability where doing so would be unlawful.

20. Indemnity

To the extent permitted by law, you agree to be responsible for claims or losses arising from:

  • your unlawful use of Tabayyun;
  • your violation of these Terms;
  • content you submit without appropriate rights;
  • misuse of generated content.

21. Governing Law

The governing-law and dispute-resolution provisions will be finalized based on the jurisdiction of the legal entity operating Tabayyun.

Until the corporate jurisdiction is finalized, this section should be reviewed before public commercial launch.

22. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time.

Material changes may be communicated through the service or by another appropriate method.

Continued use after updated Terms take effect may constitute acceptance where permitted by law.
