FAQ
Clear questions. Sourced answers — including about the product itself.
How the corpus works, what happens when a citation cannot be confirmed, and what Tabayyun is not.
Where do Tabayyun's answers come from?
Standard answers come from a verified internal corpus of 70,972 indexed passages: the full Qur'an (6,236 verses), six major hadith collections, and multiple classical tafsir works. Tabayyun does not search the open web for those answers. Scholar Mode may consult additional outside sources, which are labeled as unverified.
What happens if Tabayyun cannot confirm a citation?
The pipeline is fail-closed: if a citation cannot be verified against retrieved text, it is withheld rather than shown. You may get a more limited answer, or a notice that a requested source could not be confirmed.
Does Tabayyun issue fatwas?
No. Tabayyun is a research and educational tool. It is not a mufti and is not a replacement for a qualified scholar, especially for personal rulings.
Can I trust every answer completely?
No tool should be treated as never wrong. Tabayyun is built to ground answers in sources you can check, and to withhold unverified citations — not to claim zero errors or replace scholarly judgment.
What is Scholar Mode?
An opt-in Beta mode for broader research. Citation invention is still forbidden, but outside sources may be used and are labeled unverified. Broader reasoning carries more uncertainty than Standard Mode. You turn it on from Q&A / Settings — it is not a separate product route.
What does Khutbah Builder do with unverified requests?
If you ask for a verse, hadith, or named tafsir that cannot be matched in the evidence packet, Tabayyun reports that rather than inventing the quote. Delivery Mode and PDF export are for sermons that have already been generated. Khutbah Builder is in Beta.
How do I sign in or create an account?
Open Tabayyun to sign in or create an account on the working product. Accounts are handled there. This public site does not create product sessions on its own.
Is Research or Source Explorer available?
Not yet. Both appear in the product sidebar as disabled items and are listed here as in development. They are not launched from this website.
Can I buy a plan on this site?
No. The pricing page shows a structure for later: Free, Study, Scholar, and Institution. Pricing and usage limits are still being finalized. This site does not checkout, meter usage, or change entitlements.
What languages can I use?
You can ask in English or Arabic. Answers remain source-grounded either way.
